Ateneo, Adamson try to hike win streak

Ateneo and Adamson put their winning runs on the line on Saturday when they square off at the start of their second round bids in UAAP Season 80 basketball tournament at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Playing like a well-oiled machine on both ends of the floor, the Blue Eagles swept the first round capped by a nail biting 76-75 win over fierce rival De La Salle last Sunday.

But it doesn’t get any easier for the Eagles as they face a streaking Adamson squad which won its last four games to end the first round.

“It’s bad news for us,” said Ateneo assistant coach Sandy Arespacochaga. “Adamson is on a roll.”

University of the East shoots for back-to-back victories for the first time this season when it battles National U in the first game at 2 p.m.

Alvin Pasaol, who averaged 40.5 points in his last two games, will lead UE.
