NU shoots for crown, perfect run

National University has two goals it can achieve and one opponent it has to deal with.

The Lady Bulldogs shoot for the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference title Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre and with it, the chance to forge the first perfect tournament in the league.

Stringing up eight victories up to this point, the Lady Bulldogs are bent on putting an exclamation point to their dominance in the tournament among college teams gearing up for the coming varsity season.

Jaja Santiago, who had 23 points when NU frustrated the Lady Tamaraws in Game 1, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 26-24, will again power NU in Game 2, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

FEU isn’t about to roll over with coach George Pascua crediting that defeat to a breakdown at the wrong time.

“Our mindset just collapsed,” said Pascua, as his wards committed 27 errors in Game 1.
