Jaja Santiago fittingly named PVL MVP

It’s just right that the best player of the only undefeated team throughout the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference was named Most Valuable Player.

Jaja Santiago, National University’s towering leader, was named MVP on Saturday before Game 2 of the PVL Finals where the Lady Bulldogs are going for a sweep of Far Eastern University.

The 6-foot-5 Santiago, who led NU to an undefeated run to the finals, averaged 14.4 points with a success rate of close to 41% on attacks.

Two other Lady Bulldogs shone with Risa Sato winning the 2nd Best Middle Blocker award and Gayle Valdez earning Best Libero.

FEU was also reaped a pair of hardwares with Jeannette Villareal and Toni Rose Basas being named Best Middle Blocker and Best Opposite Spiker, respectively.

The other awardees were Rhea Ramirez of Arellano University (Best Setter), Eli Soyud of Adamson (Best Open Spiker) and Regine Arocha (2nd Best Open Spiker).
