Lady Bulldogs sweep way to PVL Collegiate crown

National University put the exclamation point to what had been a dominant campaign after a 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 25-16, win over Far Eastern U sweep the in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference Saturday night at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Led by by Most Valuable player Jaja Santiago, the Lady Bulldogs also completed a perfect run after nine games.

Santiago validated her conference MVP plum with a 22-point outing, but she also got a lot of help from playmaker Jasmine Nabor, who dished out 45 excellent sets.

Nabor, who also got six points, took home the Finals MVP award. She had 46 excellent sets in Game 1 on Wednesday.

The Lady Bulldogs smelled blood, entering the fourth set where they took control early, 17-10, and never letup.

Jeannette Villareal and Czarina Carandang scored 10 points each for the Lady Tamaraws, who missed the services of Bernadeth Pons and Kyla Atienza anew.

Pons and Atienza suited up in the UAAP beach volleyball finals where FEU fell short to the Golden Tigresses.

NU also won the finals opener in four sets, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 26-24.
