Kiefer Ravena impresses in PBA Draft Combine

Kiefer Ravena didn’t shy away from showing his athleticism after topping three of the five performance tests in the morning session of the 2017 Gatorade PBA Draft Combine Monday at Gatorade Hoops Center.

The 23-year-old playmaker, who is believed to be a top two selection in the coming draft, set the standard in the anthropometry and performance tests, recording the best marks in lane agility, maximum vertical leap, and 3/4 court sprint.

Ravena was the quickest athlete, completing the lane agility test in 10.72 seconds, with Zach Nicholls (11.56 seconds), Jett Manuel (11.62 seconds), Gian Abrigo (11.66 seconds), and Robbie Herndon (11.91 seconds) rounding out the five fastest finishers.

The two-time UAAP MVP also recorded 39.5 inches in the maximum vertical leap. Trailing him were Julian Sargent (39 inches), Jett Manuel (38.5 inches), Lervin Flores (38 inches), and Biboy Enguio and Sidney Onwubere (37.5 inches).

Ravena capped off his stellar run as he showed that he was also the fastest sprinter among the applicants, finishing the 3/4 court sprint in just 2.78 seconds. After him were Nicholls (2.81 seconds), Gab Dagangon (2.82 seconds), and Monbert Arong and Jebb Bulawan (2.88 seconds).

La Salle forward Julian Sargent and Arellano shooter Zach Nicholls also had their share of the limelight, topping the last two skills tests.

Sargent showed his upper body strength as he registered 9.4 meters in the medicine ball throw. Andreas Cahilig (8.62 meters), Jeron Teng (8 meters), Raymar Jose (7.99 meters), and Jason Perkins (7.83 meters) were the top five.

Nicholls, meanwhile, clocked the best time in the shuttle run at 51.3 seconds while Davon Potts (52.4 seconds), Jebb Bulawan (52.41 seconds), Emil Palma (52.55 seconds), and Felix Apreku (52.66 seconds) followed.
