Betten man to beat in Bellevue 5150

Australian Sam Betten returns to flaunt his might in the Bellevue Resort 5150 Triathlon on Nov. 5 in Panglao, Bohol.

Betten will be defending the men’s crown for the third time and is gunning for his fifth straight victory in 5150 events.

Dimity Lee-Duke, also of Australia, sets out for redemption in the women’s division of the 1.5k swim, 40k bike and 10k run championship organized by Sunrise Events, Inc. and backed by The Bellevue Resort.

Betten beat German Henry Beck by over eight minutes to clinch the gold medal last year. Despite the presence of challengers from 23 countries, Betten remains the favorite for the top $2,000 purse in the event presented by the Department of Tourism and Tourism Promotions Board of the Philippines.
