Bong Ravena admitted that he’s glad that his eldest son Kiefer has finally decided to join the PBA.

“As they say, it’s time to work now,” he said with a chuckle as he observed the action in the two-day 2017 Gatorade PBA Draft Combine.

Though he’s well aware of his son’s capability, the elder Ravena was still shocked with how hard the former two-time UAAP MVP went in the pre-draft workouts where Kiefer topped three of the five performance tests on Monday.

“I was actually very surprised that he topped three of the five tests. He’s really trained as a competitor and he did not take it slow. He was going at it hard,” he said.

Speaking from experience, the TNT assistant coach is confident that his son can be a game changer in the league, especially with mock drafts placing Kiefer at second with NLEX, which would spruce up the opportunity of a possible partnership with fiery coach Yeng Guiao.

“I’ve been with coach Yeng since my amateur days and I know that coach Yeng can teach Kief a lot of things. That’s one good thing with Kief, he’s very coachable,” he said.

Still, Ravena said that he’d be fine whatever team picks his 23-year-old.

“Any team, I’m OK with it. I just tell him to work harder, that’s it,” he said.
