Three-time Olympic gold medalist Karch Kiraly sees a brighter future for volleyball in the Philippines, which is enjoying a renaissance with improved performances in the international stage.
Kiraly, the current United States women’s national team coach, who will grace the opening Philippine Superliga Grand Prix on Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre, believes the country has the potential to be among the world’s top volleyball countries, noting the support that the sport enjoys from fans.
“I don’t think you have to be the tallest, the highest jumpers, the most powerful to be a great volleyball team,” he said at a press conference at Brotzeit Restaurant in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
“I believe that lots of different areas in the world can produce great players and great coaches,” he added.
