Ateneo eyes semis bonus

Ateneo shoots for the twice-to-beat bonus in the Final Four on Saturday against dangerous University of the East, while Far Eastern U and University of the Philippines collide in a clash with big postseason implications in UAAP Season 80 at Mall of Asia Arena.

The Blue Eagles are looking to extend their unbeaten start to 11 games in the duel with the Warriors at 2 p.m., before the Tamaraws-Fighting Maroons duel, which could determine the team that clinches the last Final Four berth.

“We’ve got a big target on our backs and it’s not going to get easier from hereon in,” said Ateneo assistant coach Sandy Aresapochaga. “We have got to make sure that our focus remains on the next game.”

The Warriors have won three of their last five games, but their loss to La Salle last Wednesday put their semis hopes in peril.

The Tamaraws can solidify their hold of the last semifinal berth with a victory over UP.
