Different team, same mindset.

Raymar Jose vowed there won’t be any letups in his game as he embarks on a new challenge with Blackwater in the PBA.

“Rebounds, defense, and aggressiveness. The energy and the hustle, I hope to bring all of those here,” Jose said after being selected third overall in the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft on Sunday.

”I hope I can play well and contribute to the team. And I wish we reach the goals we set.”

The Elite are going all in with Jose as they made a huge statement fortifying their frontline with the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup MVP.

More importantly, it set the stage for an FEU reunion in Blackwater, as Jose will once again play alongside Mac Belo.

“I’m happy that I’ll be teammates with him again because back in college, we’re together for four years. Now, we’re together again,” he said.

Despite the familiarity between the two, Jose is well aware that the Elite’s success isn’t guaranteed. And just like how the two did back in their Tamaraw days, they will have to work at their hardest to get their team out of the cellar this upcoming season.

“I hope our partnership will thrive that we can replicate our bond. I’m thankful because kuya Mac is there to guide me, but we need to give our best for us to be successful,” he said.
