The Philippine Sailing Association added another trophy to its growing collection of international victories this year.

Shortly after securing the overall title in the IRC A Class, the PSA-Standard Insurance Centennial team topped the Far East 28R Class in the 11th China Cup International Regatta in Shenzhen, China.

The Filipino sailors proved superior over the national teams of New Zealand and Singapore, winning all seven races of the meet organized by the Asian Sailing Federation.

“We’ve been lucky in international events this year,” said PSA president Judes Echauz, who has coach Allan Balladares, Asia’s top match-racing skipper, on the team.

Skippered by Southeast Asian Games 470 class medalist Emerson Villena, the Filipino crew also captured the IRC A Class plum in the premier division.
