Dumaguete siblings on target
DUMAGUETE CITY—A new breed of champions is rising from this city that has been a stronghold of Philippine archery.
Naina Dominique Tagle, 9, led local archers who advanced to the Batang Pinoy National Finals Sunday at University of Negros Oriental State University campus.
“We chose one sport so we can be together. It’s a family bonding for us,” said Tagle’s father, Nick. “So after classes we go straight to practice, the two girls and me and my wife.”
Elder sister Nicole, 15, bagged the Southeast Asian Games silver in Kuala Lumpur in August and is already qualified for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires next October.
