PSC allots P600M for NSA expenses

The Philippine Sports Commission would strictly monitor how national sports associations would spend the P600 million budget for next year.

The PSC likewise expects the nationals to always be at their best.

“The NSAs must answer for their athletes’ performances,” said PSC Chair Butch Ramirez.

The 40 NSAs would also be required to submit a certification of recognition from their respective international federations and the Philippine Olympic Committee.

“There are NSAs which will receive P40 million, some will get P15, others P10 (million),” said Ramirez.

Traditionally, medal-rich sports such as athletics and swimming grab the lion’s share of the budget pie.

At the same time, the PSC wants NSAs with leadership issues to resolve their disputes.
