Gilas winds up 3-day training camp in Tagaytay

Gilas Pilipinas wrapped up its three-day training camp in Tagaytay on Wednesday ahead of its matchup against Japan in the Fiba Basketball World Qualifiers next week.

In the out-of-town camp at Splendido Tagaytay, Gilas underwent two-a-day practice sessions, weights training and film viewing with coach Chot Reyes and his staff.

The nationals also took the opportunity to build a deeper relationship with team building exercises, as seen in Reyes’ social media posts.

Still absent from the pool were Terrence Romeo, who is reportedly still undergoing therapy, and naturalized center Andray Blatche.

Kevin Alas, Carl Bryan Cruz, Roger Pogoy, Kiefer Ravena, Mac Belo, Calvin Abueva, Matthew Wright, Allein Maliksi, Troy Rosario, Raymond Almazan, June Mar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar, Gabe Norwood, and Jayson Castro were in attendance.

Blatche, though, has hinted that he is set to reunite with the team with just nine days before the Nov. 24 match in Tokyo.

The team is schedule to drive back to Manila Wednesday afternoon.
