Ateneo, NU keep perfect slates in UAAP juniors

Ateneo kept its immaculate record in the UAAP Season 80 juniors’ basketball tournament after humiliating University of the East, 97-47, Wednesday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Blue Eagles are at 4-0 to share the top spot with National University, which brushed off Adamson University 94-82 on the same day.

Terrence Fortea had 26 points to lead the Bullpups against the Junior Falcons while Rhayyan Amsali added 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Joaquin Manuel led the Blue Eaglets against the Junior Warriors filling up the stat sheets with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals while SJ Belangel did his part with 13 points, seven assists, and five boards.

University of Santo Tomas claimed solo third after an 83-79 overtime win over defending champion Far Eastern University-Diliman.

John Cansino dominated for the Tiger Cubs with 29 points and 11 rebounds as UST bounced back from its lone loss of the tournament, an 89-85 slip-up against NU.
