F2 Logistics hopes to formally clinch the top spot when it takes on lowly Iriga City while depleted Cignal clashes with winless Victoria Sports-University of Santo Tomas Saturday in the Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at Filoil Flying V Centre.
Stung by Foton last Saturday, F2 Logistics is looking to redeem itself and become the No. 1 squad in the knockout quarterfinals which begins on Tuesday.
The Cargo Movers, who had never yielded a single set until the Tornadoes crushed them in five frames, will hold superior quotient over everybody should they win against the Oragons.
But Iriga City, armed with a 2-5 record and a nothing-much-to-lose attitude, is expected to go all out in the 6 p.m. match.
“We will just go out there and play, we have nothing to lose,” said Iriga City coach Parley Tupaz. “We will play our best and try to score an upset.”
The Oragons will bank on towering spiker Tamara Kmezic of Serbia and Sama Miyagawa of Japan.
If F2 Logistics prevails, it will still take on Iriga City in the quarterfinals.
The hard-luck HD Spikers, meanwhile, will lose local leaders Jovelyn Gonzaga (knee injury) and Rachel Anne Daquis (dengue) when they collide with the also-ran Tigresses.
Cignal may end up at the No. 4 position and will likely face either Cocolife, Sta. Lucia Realty or Generika-Ayala in the quarterfinal round.
