NLEX coach Yeng Guiao admitted there’s added pressure heading into the new PBA season following  the team’s launch of its new team logo.

“We feel pressured because if we fail, all of you might mug us,” Guiao joked Monday in the team’s logo rebrand event at the MPTC Compound in Balintawak.

NLEX signaled its move to a brighter path with a refreshed take on the team’s emblem as it brings in a renewed hope for the 43rd season of the PBA.

“We wanted an embodiment of our business, our group, and all of us as one MPTC (Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation) family,” said NLEX alternate governor Rodrigo Franco.

Guiao is just honored with the support thrown at the team’s way as he goes to war with a rejigged roster with the addition of the highly-touted Kiefer Ravena.

Ravena, the second overall pick in the 2017 PBA Draft, is expected to contribute right away as he joins Kevin Alas, and veterans Asi Taulava, Cyrus Baguio, and Larry Fonacier.

“It’s really a privilege, an honor coaching NLEX. We’ve been together for a year and the path we took wasn’t an easy one. We had to languish at the bottom of the standings for two conferences. It was difficult, but slowly, we’re seeing the team improve, develop its character, and build a new culture,” he said.

The fiery coach vowed nothing but great things this coming conference as Guiao.

“We will represent you and make you proud this year.”
