MANILA, Philippines – Adam Cristman scored on a header in the 62nd minute for a 4-1 lead for the Los Angeles Galaxy over the Philippine Azkals at the Rizal Memorial Stadium Saturday.
Cristman linked up with Landon Donovan for the goal.
Robbie Keane made it 3-1 for LA Galaxy just a minute into the second half. Ireland’s all-time leading scorer, also delivered for the Galaxy in their 1-0 victory over Indonesia Wednesday.
Mike Magee latched onto a pass by Donovan in the 39th minute, following up David Beckham’s curling strike in the 20th minute both in the first half.
Beckham, nearly scored again on a free kick if not for Azkals’ keeper Eduard Sacapano’s timely save.
Earlier, Phil Younghusband pulled one back for the home side with a left-footed strike in the 40th minute of the first half.
Promoter Jinx Macabenta previously said Beckham was contractually obliged to play at least 45 minutes against the Azkals, but the English football superstar returned to the pitch in the second half.
