Alab Pilipinas chalked up its first win in the Asean Basketball League after brushing off Formosa 78-61 Saturday at Changhua Stadium in Taiwan.
The victory stopped Alab’s three-game skid as the team improved to 1-3, the same record the Dreamers hold.
Reggie Okosa powered Alab with 19 points, 19 rebounds, and two blocks while Bobby Ray Parks and Josh Urbiztondo added 12 points apiece.
Alab erupted late in the third quarter and that momentum got carried early into the fourth with the Philippines going on a 19-7 run for a 68-51 lead with 4:41 left in the fourth that Okosa capped off with a dunk.
Lenny Daniel led the Dreamers with 19 points and eight rebounds as his team and Alab now sit at the fifth spot in the nine-team ladder.
