Pocari, Air Force clash in Laguna

Three-time champion Pocari Sweat will banner a tripleheader of the Premier Volleyball League when it goes to Santa Rosa City in Laguna on Sunday.

The Lady Warriors, winners of three of four PVL conference crowns, and the Philippine Air Force Lady Jet Spikers, tangle at 4 p.m. at Santa Rosa Multipurpose Sports Complex.

Colliding at 6 p.m. are BanKo-Perlas, composed mostly of former Ateneo and University of the Philippines players, and Far Eastern U, a squad tipped to challenge for the crown in the UAAP Season 80 volleyball which opens Feb. 3.

Preceding the two power-packed games is the equally exciting showdown pitting NCAA powerhouse San Sebastian College, led by one-time PVL and three-time NCAA Most Valuable Player Grethcel Soltones, and Akari-Adamson at 2 p.m.

Two-time UAAP titlist Ateneo was supposed to take on BanKo-Perlas but backed out at the last minute.

The PVL and Grid Athletic Sports, headed by former Ateneo ace Charo Soriano of Beach Volleyball Republic, are co-organizing the event which has made stops in Batangas, Cagayan Valley, Iloilo and Bacolod.
