Myrtle Sarrosa fulfills childhood dream of representing Ginebra

For Myrtle Sarrosa, being named as the muse of Barangay Ginebra for the start of the 43rd season of the PBA was just one part of her night.

Donning a flowy red dress, the statuesque Sarrosa was a stunning rose in front of the Gin Kings and was a touch of welcome elegance at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

A smile flashed across Sarrosa’s face, knowing full well she achieved something she had always dreamed of since she was a child back in Iloilo.

“Actually, my family and I are huge Ginebra fans so when I knew that I would be the team’s muse they were in full support,” said Sarrosa in Filipino Sunday. “I’m glad that the first time I became a muse it was for the team I really liked.”

“When I was a kid, we really liked to watch PBA games so I’m truly grateful that I was Ginebra’s muse.”

And welcoming Sarrosa to her first dance as one of the ladies of the PBA opening ceremonies was an old friend of hers.

Scottie Thompson and Sarrosa first became acquainted with each other when the two met in the NCAA during the former’s playing years for University of Perpetual Help.

“I’m so proud of Scottie and I told him that the last time we saw each other was when he was playing in the NCAA and I was the courtside reporter for Perps, and now we’re reunited at Ginebra,” said Sarrosa who stood with a princess-like poise while wearing four-inch heels.

“And I’m really happy because back then I just wore sneakers on the court and now I’m walking out there with the players especially with Scottie.”
