Patrombon, Otico clash in pps dagitab quarterfinals

Fancied Jeson Patrombon dropped just three games in his first two matches to advance to the quarterfinals of the PPS-PEPP Dagitab Tennis Festival Open at City of Naga tennis courts in Naga City, Cebu on Sunday.

The No. 2 seed ousted Jhun Alcoseba, 6-1, 6-1, and Jimmy Tangalin, 6-0, 6-1, and will join No. 1 Johnny Arcilla, Tierro, No. 6 Ronard Joven and fourth seed Leander Lazaro in the quarterfinals of the season-ending Open tournament.

Patrombon will next face Bryan Otico, who also continued to dish out top form by toppling No. 5 Fritz Verdad,
6-3, 2-6, 7-6(5).
In the women’s side, top seed Khim Iglupas thwarted Zethley Alferez, 6-3, 6-4, to set up a clash with Erika Manduriao, who ousted Tracy Llamas, 6-1, 6-1. —VANESSA B. HIDALGO
