PSC grassroots program heads to Mindanao

Neglected by previous administrations, Mindanao will now be at the forefront of the Philippine Sports Commission’s grassroots program for 2018.

PSC Chair Butch Ramirez has instructed PSC commissioner Charles Maxey to go full blast in the region by allowing the people of Mindanao to get more involved in the projects of the government sports agency.

“Our programs should be felt in Mindanao,” said Ramirez. “It’s about time that we promote and carry out our programs in the region, something the past administrations had failed to address.”

Maxey, the oversight commissioner for Mindanao, will work hand in hand with the Philippine Sports Institute and its coordinators in the area.

“We will revive the Mindanao Friendship Games starting next year and we will start the open water swimming program in March,” said Maxey.

He added they will visit local government units before the relaunch of the Mindanao Friendship Games.
