Francis Vicente may have lost his post as head coach of Generika-Ayala, but the bad news did not damper his holiday spirit.
Generika-Ayala let go of its head coach after the team failed to enter the playoffs in the All-Filipino and Grand Prix, finishing seventh in the both of the conferences with a combined record of 5-9.
Vicente, though, remained positive despite the ouster, saying he could now focus better on his other two commitments as the head coach of University of the East and the national women’s team.
“I see this as a blessing in disguise,” said Vicente. “Now I can focus wholly on UE and the national team.”
Generika-Ayala has yet to reveal its new head coach but already has a shortlist for the potential replacement.
