Louie Gonzales promoted to La Salle head coach
De La Salle didn’t need to look far for the replacement of Aldin Ayo as the latter’s head assistant was immediately thrust into the head coach’s chair.
Louie Gonzalez will replace Ayo, who bid La Salle goodbye Tuesday night to make hi departure official, as the new head mentor of the nine-time UAAP champions, according to reports.
Article continues after this advertisementAs Spin.ph reported, La Salle backer Danding Cojuangco appointed Gonzalez in a meeting at the office of San Miguel Corp.

Gonzalez also shared on his Facebook account a post from Archers’ Clubhouse about the meeting.
Article continues after this advertisement“At a meeting at the San Miguel Corporation last Friday evening, patriarch Eduardo Cojuangco Jr. has appointed coaching duties to Louie Gonzalez,” said the post.
Veteran coach Glen Capacio will be Gonzalez’ right hand man.
Gonzalez was Ayo’s head assistant for three years starting in 2015 when they steer Letran to the NCAA title then followed it up with the UAAP championship in 2016.
