NCAA: Perpetual Help tossers still unscathed

MANILA, Phlippines—University of Perpetual Help System Dalta overpowered Jose Rizal U, 25-18, 25-12, 25-19, to seize the solo lead in the women’s division of the 87th NCAA volleyball tournament at the Letran gym.

The Lady Altas notched their fourth straight win that boosted their bid for a first-ever title.

The Lady Bombers fell to their fourth straight defeat in the 10-team tournament.

Earlier, the Lyceum Lady Pirates crushed the Mapua Lady Cardinals, 25-17, 25-12, 25-11, to forge a four-way tie for third place with San Beda, Letran and Arellano.

“We hope to continue playing like this, but we also need to keep working hard and improving everyday,” said Perpetual coach Mike Rafael.

Perpetual’s men’s team likewise remained unscathed after disposing JRU, 25-18, 25-10, 25-19, to grab a share of the lead with College of St. Benilde with three wins apiece.
