Magnolia has been on a roll lately thanks in large part to its star guard Paul Lee.
The Hotshots have now won two straight games, three of their last four overall, and in their back-to-back victories, Lee was instrumental.
Against Kia on Wednesday, Lee fired all of his 13 points in the pivotal third period where Magnolia turned a two-point halftime deficit into a commanding lead.
He also had four assists and three blocks as the Hotshots cruised to a 124-77 win.
The 2009 UAAP MVP out of University of the East followed up his offensive exploits with another outburst against NLEX on Sunday. Lee unleashed 21 points built on four 3-pointers to lead the Hotshots to a 105-94 win.
Lee’s stellar showing earned him the PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award after averaging 17 points, 4 assists and 1.5 blocks.
He topped Alaska’s Calvin Abueva, Vic Manuel and Chris Banchero, GlobalPort guard Stanley Pringle, Blackwater big man JP Erram and Mac Belo, as well as San Miguel’s June Mar Fajardo and Arwind Santos for the weekly citation.
