NCAA volleyball: Racraquin powers San Beda to 4th straight win
Cesca Racraquin was her usual dominant self as she captained San Beda to a 25-23, 25-14, 22-25, 25-15 victory over Mapua in the NCAA Season 93 women’s volleyball tournament Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The open spiker unleashed 19 points, 17 of which off kills, on top of 17 digs and 13 receptions to steer her side to a share of the top spot with Arellano at 4-0.
Article continues after this advertisementMa. Nieza Viray added 14 markers, Trisha Paras had 13 points, while Satriani Espritu and Maria Jiezela Viray both got 10 hits to aid the Lady Red Spikers’ cause.
Mapua, meanwhile, continued its search for a breakthrough win after falling to its fourth straight loss.
Dianne Latayan carried the Lady Cardinals with 10 points.
Article continues after this advertisementLater in the day, undermanned San Sebastian proved to be too good for St. Benilde as it came away with a 23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-23 win.
Nikka Marielle Dalisay topscored for the Lady Stags with 19 points, 15 coming from spikes and three blocks, while Joyce Sta. Rita had 12 markers.
Daurene Santos got 11 for San Sebastian, which evened its record at 2-2.
Ranya Musa kept the ship afloat for the Lady Blazers with 16 points, while Diane Ventura got 14 as St. Benilde also fell to a 2-2 slate.
