Boracay sets sights on streak, No. 1 spot
MANILA, Philippines—Boracay Rum tries to sustain its steady climb against skidding Big Chill in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Wednesday at the San Juan Gym.
Now running third, the Waves go for a fifth victory in the 4 p.m. duel which coach Lawrence Chongson said will be crucial in their bid to go all the way to the top spot.
“We have a long way to go but we’ll really do our best to get five straight wins,” said Chongson. “We want to be No. 1.”

RnW Pacific Pipes also shoot for a fourth triumph against the winless Cobra Energy Drink at 2 p.m.
Led by Glenn Khobuntin and Maclean Sabelina, the Waves turned back Dub Unlimited, 72-68, for their third win in a row.

Only the top two teams at the end of the eliminations will earn outright semifinal berths, while the rest slug it out in the quarterfinals.
