Far Eastern University will be missing a veteran presence to start its campaign in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament.

Graduating spiker Rose Vargas will miss the entire first round of eliminations due to muscle strain according to FEU coach George Pascua, as per Inquirer’s The Volleyball Reporter.

Vargas, one of the league’s potent scorers when she made her debut in Season 73, is set to make her return to FEU after a four-season absence.

She was a key member for the Creamline Cool Smashers in the Premier Volleyball League.

It’s a huge blow to the Lady Tamaraws, who are looking to make another Final Four appearance.

FEU clinched the fourth seed last season with an 8-6 record before losing to Ateneo in the Final Four.

The Lady Tamaraws open their bid in Season 80 on Feb. 4 against the Lady Eagles at Mall of Asia Arena.
