In dire need of a boost up front, Ginebra picked up Prince Caperal from the free agent pool on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-7 center out of Arellano, who was was recently dropped by Kia, will shore up coach Tim Cone’s big man rotation when the Gin Kings return to the hardcourt on Saturday against NLEX.

Caperal’s entry alleviates some of the burden on  Japeth Aguilar, Jervy Cruz, and Raymond Aguilar as Ginebra seeks to keep the ship afloat with Greg Slaughter still recovering from a strained hamstring.

Slaughter has said that he’s ready to return to action against the Road Warriors, but it is unsure if Cone will take the gamble and field in his prized big man.

Caperal averaged 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in the five games he played for the Picanto this 2018 PBA Philippine Cup.

This will be his fifth team in his four years in the PBA after being drafted 14th in the 2014 PBA Draft. He previously suited up for GlobalPort, Barako Bull, Phoenix, and Kia.
