Sports patrons Ang, Echauz share PSA’s top exec award
Two businessmen behind some of the country’s most successful sports franchises and programs will be honored by the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) and San Miguel Corporation in an annual awards night on Feb. 27 at Manila Hotel.
Ramon S. Ang and Ernesto Echauz will be the recipients of the Executive of the Year award for supporting Filipino athletes.
Ang, SMC head, has bankrolled successful teams in basketball and volleyball while supporting other sports.
In the Philippine Basketball Association, Ang’s teams swept last year’s titles with San Miguel Beer bagging the Philippine Cup and the Commissioner’s Cup and Ginebra ruling the Governors’ Cup.
As head of the Philippine Sailing Association and Standard Insurance, Echauz backs triathlon, cycling and duathlon.
