Dallas, Texas—Jerwin Ancajas and Joven Jimenez got hundreds of congratulatory messages on social media Saturday night.
But there’s one call that warmed Ancajas’ heart.
It was from his idol and benefactor Manny Pacquiao.
“Congratulations. I am truly proud of you,” the eight-division world champion told a giddy Ancajas.
The Philippine senator also reminded him not to forget God for his blessings.
That made Ancajas’ day even more glorious.
A victorious title defense followed by a third call from the man whose ring achievements inspired him to train even harder every day at his Survival Camp, trainer Joven Jimenez’s facility in Cavite.
The first call was made Friday when Pacquiao advised him to relax and shun the pressure before praying over him.
Another call followed on Saturday, with Pacquiao urging him to give his best.
