Muntinlupa, QC trounce MPBL rivals

Quezon City and Muntinlupa routed their respective rivals on Tuesday night to pick up their second straight triumph in the MPBL Anta-Rajah Cup at JCSGO Gym in Quezon City.

The Royal Manila-backed Capitals subdued the Imus Bandera-GLC Truck and Equipment, 84-75.

The Cagers of Muntinlupa, being supported by Angelis Resort, dumped the Caloocan Supremos-Longrich, 89-76, in the other game of the tournament organized by Sen. Manny Pacquiao with former PBA MVP Kenneth Duremdes as commissioner.

The Capitals turned to ex-La Salle stalwart PJ Barua in the early goings to take a 29-17 lead, then went to big man Jessie Collado in the second half to pick up their second win in as many games and join Navotas and Batangas City in a share of the lead.

Collado finished with 17 points and eight rebounds while Barua added 15 points.
