PBA commissioner Willie Marcial is set to meet with the players of Mila’s Lechon on Monday to shed more light on the team’s listless performance in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.
The Mighty Roasters were put in the hot seat following their humiliating 55-102 defeat to Zark’s Burger-Lyceum on Thursday where they showed little to no effort to play the game in the second half.
“We saw in Mila’s game that they didn’t look like they wanted to play,” Marcial said Thursday in his guesting in SportsIQ, INQUIRER’s omni-platform radio show.

The pathetic display of basketball was in stark contrast to how the team performed in the first half, where Mila’s Lechon started the game at 11-3 and was in striking distance of Zark’s-Lyceum for the first two quarters.
After the halftime break, the Mighty Roasters looked disinterested to even put the ball in the hoop, committing unforced turnovers, giving up open layups, and missing gimmes which led to a measly 16 second half points.
Even Jawbreakers coach Topex Robinson related that the opposing players were egging his wards to continue shooting and run the score up, making it no surprise that Mila’s Lechon committed 30 turnovers and gave up 38 turnover points.

Marcial has already met with the team officials led by coach Jesse Ricardo and Mila’s Lechon team owners on Friday at the PBA Office in Libis, but wanted to get more insights from the players.
The league will be releasing the final report early next week.
