Even Jayson Castro admitted that being one of the bottom teams in the standings is a foreign feeling for TNT.
“We’re not used to this,” Castro said after the KaTropa slid to eighth with a 4-5 card in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup.
Losing its second straight after a 78-93 defeat to Ginebra on Sunday, Castro called for his side to perform consistently if TNT desires to advance to the next stage.
“We haven’t had consistency this conference. We’ve been up-and-down in our games and that also happens within the game. That’s what we need,” he said.
Castro urged the KaTropa to have that sense of urgency in their last two games beginning against GlobalPort on Wednesday.
“We need to find ways to get back in the winning column. This loss was hard on us because of how close the standings is. We need to get our act together and it also posed a challenge for us veterans like me and Harvey (Carey) to handle this situation and show it to the young guys,” he said.
With that being said, Castro made it clear that the duel with GlobalPort will be a make-or-break game for TNT.
“It’s really a do-or-die for us. We can’t lose,” he said. “It’s no longer about the Xs and Os. We need to show the effort until the end of the game.”
