Canlubang has added motivation in trying to regain lost glory in the PAL Interclub Seniors’ golf championship.

“We will be playing for Mike Preysler,” long-time stalwart Rolly Viray told the Inquirer as the Sugar Barons try to wrest the title away from Luisita starting March 1.

They will dedicate their efforts to their former teammate who passed away last December after losing his battle with cancer.

Preysler played in Davao last year and struggled despite his sterling credentials as a standout in the senior amateur circuit in Spain.

The Sugar Barons have also called in Pem Rosal as reinforcement as they try to match the firepower packed by the Luisitans behind ex-pro Eddie Bagtas.

Rosal, a younger brother of old reliable Abe, will come in from the United States this Friday.

“Abe said his brother is better than him,” Viray said.

If true, the Barons may have found someone to fill the void created by the continued absence of Tommy Manotoc, who is also in the United States because of family commitments.
