Akari-Adamson whips Che’Lu-San Sebastian for third straight win
Akari-Adamson got its act together in the second half to beat Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian, 84-75,Tuesday in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
Jerrick Ahanmisi struggled from the field, shootihg only 2-of-11 three but still came away with 18 points on top of hree rebounds, and three assists, while Jonathan Espeleta continued his tear with 15 markers, three dimes, and two boards.
Article continues after this advertisementEgie Boy Mojica added 12 points, while Cameroonian bruiser Papi Sarr tallied a double-double of 11 markers and 10 rebounds in the victory.
Coach Franz Pumaren reiterated that he still sees a lot of work to be done on his side despite the Falcons moving up to third place with a 3-1 card.
“We still have a lot of hard work to do. I’m stressing that we’ve only been together for one month, and we’re still not in that great of a basketball shape right now. As you can see, there’s still a lot of lapses because some of our rookies are still getting used to our adjustments,” he said.
Article continues after this advertisementAkari-Adamson did a good job making the most of its chances, turning Che’Lu-San Sebastian’s 24 turnovers to 27 points which helped them establish a 15-point lead, 69-54, early in the fourth quarter.
Samboy De Leon and Alfred Batino carried the Revellers with 14 points apiece as their side suffered back-to-back losses to fall to 2-3.
