Top favorites Wenson Reyes and older sister Quiana ruled their respective divisions at the start of the Malolos mini-motocross series recently at Malolos Sports and Convention race Track.
Wenson conquered the premier kids 85cc and 65cc divisions after repulsing the determined challenges of David Malgapo, Zan Mamaril and Ethan Morales.
Quiana topped the girls division (14 and below) against Regine May Flores. Quiana earned a thunderous applause from the crowd with a high-flying jump at the finish line.
Xy Maximo emerged triumphant in the all-girls division for ages 9-below as well as the kids 50cc (ages 7 and 8).
Kids aged 4 to 12 for boys and 8 to 14 for girls joined the series supported by Malolos City Mayor Christian Natividad and organized by the Mx Messiah Fairgrounds Academy headed by Pastor Sam Tamayo.
“This mini-motocross series, featuring the kids, is what will make the sport of motocross racing grow in the country,” said Tamayo. “We are grateful for Malolos City for making this three-leg race series possible. To God be the glory.”
Tamayo, who also organized a “Learn to Ride” program sponsored by Yamaha Motor Philippines for kids 12-under.
Winners from the other age-group categories were Joshua Tamayo of Yamaha PW50 (4 to 6), Christopher Mercado of Yamaha PW50 (8-below), Kevin Clint Bernardo (4 to 6) and TJ Villalon (8-below).
