Lindsay Stalzer picked up where she left off, powering Petron to a 25-21, 18-25, 25-17, 25-20 win over Sta. Lucia in the 2018 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix Saturday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Stalzer fired 30 points with six service aces and two blocks for the Blaze Spikers, who got their bid to regain the crown going.
“First game, first win but of course, we still encountered problems which is our receive and communication on the court,” said Petron coach Shaq delos Santos in Filipino.
Hillary Hurley backed up Stalzer with 18 points, including the Blaze Spikers’ last three points.
Rhea Dimaculangan was a wizard on the floor for Petron, dishing out 32 excellent sets as she and Stalzer proved to be a lethal combination.
Petron libero Pia Gaiser also had a triumphant return from an ACL injury that cut short her UAAP career last year.
Gaiser, the former University of the Philippines star, missed the rest of UAAP Season 79 after hurting her left knee against National University 11 months ago.
Anisova Bohdana and Mar-Jana Phillips led the Lady Realtors’ attack with 18 and 16 points, respectively.
