D-League: Che-Lu-San Sebastian whips Go for Gold for back-to-back wins

Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian coasted to its first back-to-back wins in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup, shutting down Go for Gold, 87-65, Tuesday at Marikina Sports Center.

Allyn Bulanadi scattered 15 points and three rebounds, while Samboy de Leon went 3-of-4 from downtown to wound up with 14 markers.

Michael Calisaan also notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards to guide the Revellers to their fourth win in seven games.

“We’re more prepared this time out,” said coach Stevenson Tiu as his side moved to fifth place with its 4-3 card.

Che’Lu-San Sebastian set the tone early in the game, going on a 15-2 start before punishing Go for Gold for its 25 turnovers which led to 33 easy points for the Revellers.

Despite coming out on top, Tiu isn’t resting on his laurels knowing the remaining four games remain crucial for his team’s chances in the playoffs.

“We’re still not safe. There’s still a lot that can happen. So that’s the challenge for our guys to make it to the quarterfinals,” he said.

Justin Gutang paced the Scratchers (2-3) with 12 points and six rebounds in the loss.
