Easy MPBL victories for Kuyas, Bandera

CITY OF MALOLOS—Bulacan continued its solid play on its home court as the Kuyas toppled powerhouse Quezon City Capitals, 95-81, on Saturday night for their second straight win in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Anta Rajah Cup here.

Former San Sebastian standout Jovit Dela Cruz fired 18 points on a steady 8-of-11 clip, while Stephen Siruma added 13 points, including six in the final quarter, as the Kuyas, backed by Ligo Sardines, improved to 3-3.

Earlier, Imus Bandera broke into the win column at the expense of Caloocan Supremos, 70-61, at Bulacan Capitol Stadium.

Former Arellano star Orly Daroya had 13 points as the Bandera, supported by GLC Truck and Equipment, also gave coach Jerry Codiñera his first win in the league founded by Sen. Manny Pacquiao and supervised by commissioner Kenneth Duremdes.
