Petron overpowers Smart

Petron was simply too much for a pick-up Smart Prepaid team built around a superb import Thursday night.

Petron stymied highly regarded Cuban reinforcement Gyselle Silva, who failed to save Smart from a 25-12, 25-14, 25-17 demolition in the Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at FilOil Flying V Centre.

Silva still scored 22 points for the Giga Hitters, who were formed just two weeks ago and whose other import, Serbian Sanja Trivunovic, was scheduled to arrive late Thursday evening.

“We were able to execute the game plan which is primarily to stop or at least slow down Silva,” said Petron’s reinforcement Lindsay Stalzer, who fired 15 points.
