F2 returned to the winners’ circle and made quick work of Smart, 25-22, 25-18, 25-17, in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix Thursday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Cargo Movers, who lost to undefeated Petron in four sets on Saturday, bumped their record to 2-1 while Smart has yet to win in four outings.

From a 15-15 tie, the defending champions displayed their pedigree and outscored Smart 10-2 to close out the match.

After Sanja Trivunovic scored an off-the-block kill to cut the deficit to two, 19-17, Kim Fajardo retaliated in the clutch scoring three of F2’s last six points.

Fajardo scored on a service ace for the Cargo Movers’ 23-17 lead before scoring another to end the match.

Although they won in straight sets, head coach Arnold Laniog said the team is still far from satisfied with their performance.

“This isn’t what we are expecting from us,” said Laniog, who took over Ramil De Jesus who is now the team’s consultant, in Filipino.

“Although they’ve been together before, they still have to work on their chemistry.”

MJ Perez led F2 with 15 points while Aby Maraño and captain Cha Cruz combined for 16 points.

Gyselle Silva had 17 points to lead Smart while Trivunovic added 12.
