Jaworski ’super energized’ as he turns 72
Living legend Robert “Sonny” Jaworski Sr. celebrated by 72nd birthday on Thursday and was met with overwhelming well-wishes from basketball fans.
In a video message posted on his Facebook account, the basketball icon thanked all the supporters for the greetings which have made him “super energized.”
“It has brought me great joy. I am deeply moved and super energized by all the wonderful and good wishes coming from near and far distances,” he said.
Jaworski, one of the most-loved figures in Philippine sports whose influence still resonates decades after his retirement, also said that he’s hoping to reach out to fans more often.
“I’m looking forward to setting up something that could make our interaction more regular and more personal,” he said, without elaborating on details.
Jaworski has often showed up to Barangay Ginebra games in the finals and has been well received by fans and the team.
In the same video, he also imparted some life lessons, saying everyone should “do the best we can in our endeavors because it can make a lot of difference.”
