Adamson opened the UAAP Season 80 baseball Finals in style, scoring a 14-4 romp of De La Salle University for a 1-0 lead in their best-of-three duel Tuesday at Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

It was a dominating performance by the Falcons, who zoomed to a four-run lead and ended the game in only seven innings.

“It’s good that our sacrifices paid off,” Binarao sad in Filipino. “I always tell the layers to just be physically and mentally prepared all the time.”

The victory gave Adamson a reason to celebrate after its women’s team lost, 4-3, to University of Santo Tomas in the softball finals opener earlier.

The Falcons, who made their first trip to the championship round in eight years, shoot for the baseball crown on Friday.

Adamson is eyeing its first baseball title since 2010.
