The PBA Office of the Commissioner on Wednesday summoned San Miguel forward Arwind Santos for his comments after the Beermen’s 95-87 Game 3 loss in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals.

The Beermen dropped their first game in the semis on Tuesday and Santos said his team had trouble defending against “eight” instead of only five players on the floor.

The ever poetic, Santos alluded the extra defenders as Ginebra’s “shadows” during the game.

“Parang may mga shadow yung mga players kanina eh. Parang yung lima, nagiging walo kaya parang nahihirapan kami bantayan kasi lima lang yung kalaban, pero nagiging walo. Ewan ko kung sobrang bilis nila kaya may shadow. Parang ganun eh,” he said without elaborating.

(It was like the players had shadows earliers. It felt like five players became eight that’s why we were having a difficultly guarding them because our five opponents became eight. I don’t know if they were just too fast so that’s why they had shadows. But it felt like that.)

Commissioner Willie Marcial and Santos are set to meet at 4:30pm at the PBA office in Libis.

Game 4 is on Thursday at Mall of Asia Arena with the Beermen going for a commanding 3-1 lead.
