San Miguel forward Arwind Santos on Wednesday was slapped with a P25,000 fine by the PBA after his comments on the officiating and flagrant foul penalty 1 in Game 3 of the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals.

The league punished Santos with a P20,000 fine for his “shadows” statement which were deemed “detrimental to the league” and P5,000 for his foul against Barangay Ginebra forward Japeth Aguilar late in the third quarter.

Santos was summoned by the Office of the Commissioner Wednesday afternoon.

The Beermen lost to the Gin Kings, 95-87, in a game where Santos said his team was playing against “eight” instead of just five players on the floor, alluding to the extra three to Ginebra’s “shadows.”

The 36-year-old Santos, who was one of the heroes in SMB’s 104-102 overtime win in Game 2, had 13 points, six rebounds and two steals on Tuesday night.

Game 4 is on Thursday at Mall of Asia Arena with the Beermen going for a commanding 3-1 lead.
