Merit champ Juvic Pagunsan out to upstage stars
CHONBURI, Thailand—Filipino Juvic Pagunsan, the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit champion-in-waiting, aims to upstage the stars of the game at the season-ending Thailand Golf Championship which starts on Thursday.
Pagunsan hopes to extend his rich vein of form by winning the $1-million event at the Amata Spring Country Club.
Since last month, he has enjoyed top-10s in Taipei and Hong Kong as well as a runner-up finish at the lucrative Singapore Open which pushed him to the Merit summit.
World No. 3 Lee Westwood and Major champs Darren Clarke and Charl Schwartzel are also vying.
