De La Salle has officially entered the Final Four of the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament, but that doesn’t mean the Lady Spikers will take it easy on the league.
The Lady Spikers still have three games remaining in their schedule and the defending champions are determined to chalk up all of those under their win column.
Libero Dawn Macandili said there won’t be any let up in their performance as they look to win their third straight title.
“Every game we’re really motivated to play and take the win because the UAAP season is at an end and this is the best time to go all out,” said Macandili in Filipino Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre.
La Salle’s three-set sweep of University of the East, 25-8, 25-14, 25-12, marked its fifth straight win and a league-best 9-2 record.
“If you won’t give it all at this point of the season, then when will you do it?” mused Macandili, who had 19 excellent digs against the Lady Warriros.
Kianna Dy echoed Macandili’s sentiments while also shining an historical light on La Salle’s recent Final Four successes.
La Salle will enter its 10th straight postseason and six of those trips ended in titles for the ladies in green.
And the central figure in all that excellence is head coach Ramil De Jesus who owns all of La Salle’s 10 women’s volleyball titles.
“It’s a good feeling that we’re back in the Final Four, and we owe it all to coach who showed us this tradition in La Salle,” said Dy, who finished with 11 points, in Filipino. “We have a great coach and he trains us to be the best that we can be so we can show it in the games.”
